Treinador de nomes como Griffin Colapinto e Kanoa Igarashi, o treinador australiano Jake Paterson anunciou sua aposentadoria do surfe profissional.

“Snake”, como era conhecido ainda nos tempos de atleta, aceitou um trabalho em tempo integral em uma marca de protetores solares.

Um dos motivos alegados pelo treinador, conhecido pela competitividade, teria sido a falta de trabalho durante a pandemia de Covid-19.

Snake participou por anos do Championship Tour, inclusive vencendo duas etapas em Jeffreys Bay, África do Sul, e uma em Pipeline, Havaí.

Depois de sair do CT, ele trabalhou como team manager da Quiksilver. Também passaram por sua mão atletas como Stephanie Gilmore, Ezekiel Lau, Leo Fioravanti e Ramzi Boukhiam.

“The funs done!!” it’s time the hang up the old passport! I have decided (with the help of Covid) to take a full time job with @wearefeelgoodinc sunscreen (try some it’s amazing) mixed emotions for me. It has been super rewarding coaching kids to reach there goals and achieve there dreams as well as teach a couple of life lessons along the way I hope. I got to coach 5 guys from the QS onto the CT tour, also got to hang out with @stephaniegilmore for one of her 7 world titles!!(very cool) . Created Snaketales clips which I hope you all liked!
