Samuel Pupo e Mateus Herdy disputam vaga para a grande final do Quiksilver Young Guns no Surf Ranch.

Os brasileiros Mateus Herdy e Samuel Pupo estão nas semifinais do Quiksilver Young Guns, competição que reúne garotos de 13 a 17 anos e levará quatro surfistas para o Surf Ranch no fim do ano.

Escolhidos pelos jurados Kanoa Igarashi e Leonardo Fioravanti, Herdy e Pupo – que é o atual campeão do evento – juntam-se a outros seis nomes em busca de uma vaga na final.

Após analisar mais de mil vídeos pelo Instagram, Kanoa selecionou Samuel Pupo, o sueco filho de brasileiro Kian Martin, que reside em Bali, o australiano Callum Robson e o havaiano Noah Beschen.

Já Fioravanti ficou com Mateus Herdy, os franceses Justin Becret e Marco Mignot, e o norte-americano Jett Schilling.

Agora a votação será aberta pelo Instagram Stories da @quiksilver. Até o dia 2 de julho, os três surfistas mais votados vão para a final no Surf Ranch, enquanto os jurados decidem mais um finalista.

O campeão do Quiksilver Young Guns leva para casa o cheque de US$ 10 mil.

Congrats @samuel_pupo, @callummrobson, @noahbeschen, @_kianmartin, @justinbecret, @jettschilling, @marco_mignot and @mateusherdy! The catch? Only four will make it to the final at the Surf Ranch. From June 25 – July 2, we’ll be dedicating a day to each of the semifinalists on our Instagram story. You, the public, will be able to use Instagram’s poll feature to vote to send a Young Gun to the final. (Note: the poll will feature two options and both options will count as a “yes” vote — there is no such thing as a “no” vote.) After every Young Gun has been featured, the three with the highest amount of votes will go to the Ranch along with a fourth wildcard selected by Leo and Kanoa. So, who’s it going to be?
