A WSL deu o sinal verde para a realização do cbdMD Jaws Big Wave Championships nesta quinta-feira (12) em Peahi, na ilha de Maui.
Ondas maiores de 10 metros são esperadas no pico e o havaiano Billy Kemper defende o título da prova. O brasileiro Lucas Chumbo está entre os big riders convocados.
Também haverá disputa na categoria feminina, onde as brasileiras Raquel Heckert e Andrea Moller figuram na lista principal.
A nova temporada de ondas grandes terá dois eventos para definir os campeões mundiais, o cbdMD Jaws Big Wave Championships e o Nazaré Tow Surfing Challenge.
O período oficial para a realização de ambos os eventos começou em 1 de novembro e vai até 31 de março de 2020.

A massive swell is on the horizon and the cbdMD Jaws Big Wave Championships is on Green Alert for Thursday, December 12th.Surf size is expected to be in the 35-45’ range on the face through the morning hours, with the bigger sets to 50’ (20-25’ Hawaiian on sets). We'll refine details as they further develop.
