If theres one place that I have learned the law of projection to work in full effect, its in the ocean. When theres no expectations set, no worries, just joy and appreciation for my surroundings & the people around me. Thats when things magically, somehow come together. This is one of those moments. Somehow out of nowhere, when I least expected it, I got gifted with one of the most amazing waves I have ever had the privilege of riding, a vision that is deeply in beded in my mind. I could have made it & I should have made it. But to be honest I am just grateful to have experienced a wave like that in my lifetime. The moment I got to the beach @kobyabberton looked me in the eyes and told me to soak it all in, that these moments only happen a hand full of times in life. & trust me I am soaking it all in! Thank you to everyone on the beach & all the positive vibes that I have been receiving the past couple of days. Na última segunda-feira (1), a bancada de Desert Point, na ilha de Lombok, Indonésia, ferveu com uma ondulação gigante no Oceano Índico.

Um dos destaques da sessão foi o brasileiro radicado em Bali, Kayu Vianna, que botou para dentro da craca do dia no Grower e ganhou o reconhecimento da galera no pico.

“De alguma forma, do nada, quando eu menos esperava fui presenteado com uma das ondas mais incríveis que eu já tive o privilégio de surfar. A visão dela ainda está profundamente enraizada na minha mente”, relata Kayu em sua conta no Instagram.

“Eu poderia e deveria ter feito isso, mas, para ser honesto, sou grato por ter experimentado uma onda como essa na minha vida. No momento que cheguei à praia, Koby Abberton me olhou nos olhos e falou para eu absorver tudo, que esses momentos acontecem poucas vezes na vida”, complementa Vianna.

Colaborador do Waves, o fotógrafo Sebastian Rojas esteve na área e registrou Kayu e outros nomes como Ian Cosenza, Kailani Jabour, Nic Von Rupp e Leandro Keesse neste swell épico na Indonésia. Confira no clipe abaixo:
